I don't really want to just drop off another post and run, but things are not slowing down here tonight...

I'm in the middle of deciding whether I should attempt a few midnight binderies before tomorrow's sale, or call it a night after finishing up my packing.

Which will win out? Good sense and exhaustion or insanity and last minute planning?

hmmm...

Well, I'm really happy to announce that the 2011 calendar poster is finally, finally printed! Hurray, huzzah, boy-howdy! I'll take its pretty picture and get it listed in the Tiger Food Ephemera shop late Saturday night or Sunday, but if you can't wait - it will be for sale tomorrow at the Kenton Firehouse Sale.

That's about all I can muster for now, folks.

Better late than never that I make mention of this bit of news - Precious Bugarin Designs (printed by Tiger Food Press) has a small shout-out in the Winter Portland Bride and Groom.

Tiger Food Press is finally ready for the holidays...this year I won't be nearly as ambitious as I had hoped (there's always next year,) but I do have some fancy new printed things already in my shop with more on the way later in the week.

more exciting fall news

This has admittedly been on the stands since early October. Maybe I've been remiss in mentioning it because it seems so hard to believe! But here it is: Precious' "Minimal" wedding invitation design, printed at Tiger Food Press, has a full page feature in the fall 2009 Martha Stewart wedding issue. Also viewable online!

This was such a fun invitation style to print! It is soooo minimal that every little printing detail was extra important. There's no room for sloppiness in inking, impression and color matching when you're working with such an intentionally limited palette. The most fun and beautiful element in this suite is the envelope front and flap, which isn't shown in this image, but can be seen at Precious' site here.

what a long, long, long time it's been

Hello, I'm back! It's been a lovely summer, and now that the days are finally feeling crispy and more fall like, I'm starting to get excited about really digging into my work in the studio.

This summer was a bit of an adjustment for me as I started a new job outside of my own studio at the Oregon College of Art and Craft as the studio manager in the book arts department. I feel like I'm finally getting into a routine and flow between my new job and the work happening at Tiger Food Press.

Next Friday there will be a broadside show opening at 23 Sandy Gallery in NE Portland, and the broadside I printed for Write Around Portland's yearly fundraiser will be there. I had a great time making mine, and it was an excellent way to get myself back in the studio. Here are a few shots from the work in process:

I'm really excited to announce the launch of this new wedding line by Portland designer Precious Bugarin. I'm partnering with Precious Bugarin Design as the letterpress printer for this line of invitations. Clean and contemporary, these invitations let the text design tell a story through texture and simplicity.
